Regen Mainnet Final Steps

We are approximately two weeks from mainnet launch, happening April 15, 2021 and are finalizing the last steps. As of March 30, 2021 our candidate chain has launched and token holders now have the ability to check their wallet balances using the Keplr wallet extension!

Candidate Chain

Our candidate chain allows us to perform a final audit and, as mentioned, allows our token holders to check their wallet balances before mainnet launch. We have sent out an email to all token holders which describes the process of auditing their wallet balances and contains instructions for addressing any discrepancies. Token holders can also check their balances using our block explorer. Since our team performed extensive audits in order to ensure a smooth process and our token holders are educated on installing and using the Keplr extension to connect to our candidate chain we anticipate very little to no issues. This process will last until April 6, 2021 at which point we will have all of the necessary information to finalize our genesis file!

Mainnet Validator Instructions

GenTX submissions

The next step for Regen validators is to submit genTx pull requests via our github repository. These submissions will enable us to populate the genesis file and launch mainnet with 50 validators. Please review the submitting a genTx instructions by visiting our github repository and learn how to successfully perform this action. Submissions will open today and will run through April 6, 2021!

How to become a mainnet validator

We are launching our mainnet with 50 validators and, if our previous testnets have taught us anything, the process of becoming a validator will be highly competitive. One of the main promises we made was to launch a permissionless public blockchain. This means qualifying for the active validator set, participating in governance and earning block rewards will be fairly decentralized and depend on the amount of tokens self-delegated and delegated to nodes by the community.

In order to ensure the highest likelihood of being in this set, validators must first submit a genTx then self-delegate. Delegators will choose to delegate at their own discretion so it will be helpful for validators to convey some transparency to the delegators as well. Validators may want to consider whether or not delegators know them and if they have a good reputation among the community. RND Inc and the Regen Foundation will also be publishing a set of criteria on which we will base our own delegations on. This criteria will include but are not limited to the following. Are validators running secure and reliable infrastructure? Are validators in some way trying to apply the high level application logic to create ecological credits and are they working to engage a broader community? Token holders will likely have their own set of criteria but may keep these three in mind when choosing.

Genesis is around the corner!

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the private token sale and actively participated in the Aplikigo testnet. With your help we now have the ability to successfully launch a public blockchain and walk the road to ecological regeneration together. If you are interested in reading about the incentivized testnet please check out this medium blog and please check out the latest Mainnet Launch blog post. We look forward to growing our community with you!
